James Sagoe is a Financial Consultant. He is a highly experienced Finance / Management Executive and a Banker who has demonstrated the ability to lead diverse teams of professionals to new levels of success in a multinational fast-paced working environment, and a local banking environment. Until January 2021, James was Stanford University, California, USA, Seed Transformation Program (STP) Business Transformation Advisor for Anglophone Countries in West Africa.
In his role as Business Transformation Advisor, Mr. Sagoe was responsible for translating the intensive curriculum of value chain operations, accounting, strategy / organizational design, finance, marketing, governance and other related fields delivered during the Stanford Transformation Program (STP) into practical insight for leaders and management teams of small to mid-sized companies in West Africa.
James has a strong technical and business qualification with an impressive track record of more than 30 years of hands-on experience in Strategic Planning, Business Unit Development, Accounting Systems Re-engineering and Financial Analysis
He has proven expertise exhibited during the management positions he held at Agricultural Development Bank and Universal Merchant Bank. As the Executive Head, Finance and Planning of the Agricultural Development Bank, he provided financial and management accountancy support and technical advice to the Bank to ensure the comprehensive analysis of financial information for planning and controlling the material and financial resources of the Bank as well as provide financial data for Management / Board decision-making. In his role as a Chief Accountant of Volta Aluminium Company (VALCO), formerly a subsidiary Kaiser Aluminium and Chemical Corporation of USA, he successfully analysed the organisation’s critical requirements, identified deficiencies / potential opportunities and developed innovative and cost-effective solutions for enhancing competitiveness, improving efficiency and increasing revenues.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana and holds an Executive MBA (Finance) degree from the University of Ghana Business School, Ghana. James served as a member of the Education and Training Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana and is a Board Member of several companies.
